Performance of foreign trade in 2 months

Based on the report of the public relations office of Iran customs, during the mentioned period, 18 million and 118 thousand tons of goods worthy of 6 billion and 859 million dollars were exported from the country which decreased by 1.48 percent in weight and 14.68 percent in value compared to the figures of the previous year.
Based on this report, 4 million and 560 thousand tons of goods worthy of 5 billion and 497 million dollars were imported into the country showing fall of 18.85 percent in weight and 13.54 percent in value in comparison.
During the period under consideration, gas condensates with value of 1 billion and 88 million dollars, petroleum gases and liquefied hydrocarbon gases with value of 272 million dollars, products of iron or non alloy steel with 247 million dollars, liquefied propane with 237 million dollars and bitumen with 201 million dollars were the main export items. China, UAE, Iraq, Republic of Korea and India were 5 main destinations of Iranian non-oil goods.
The report further indicates that during the 2 months of current Iranian year ( started on March 21, 2016), corn for feeding animals with value of 180 million dollars, soy bean with 133 million dollars, soy bean meal with 129 million dollars, separate parts and segments for passenger car manufacturing ( excluding tires) with 116 million dollars and rice with 104 million dollars were the main imported items. China, UAE, Russian Federation, Turkey, Republic of Korea, Germany and India were the main countries dealing with Iran in this regard as well.
It should be mentioned that during this period , the average price per ton of exported items reached 379 dollars, while this figure for imports stood at 1206 dollars.
