In order to facilitate the trade and exchange of goods , a Memorandum of Understanding on Customs Green Corridor was signed by the heads of Customs Administrations of Iran and Russia.
Based on the report of the public relations office of Iran Customs, Dr. Masoud Karbasian, President of Iran Customs and Andrey Belianinov, Head of Russian Federation Customs signed a MOU aimed at facilitating and accelerating the customs procedures, boosting the volume of goods transportation between the two countries, expanding customs cooperation mainly at electronic exchange of Information and developing customs controls.
The pilot project will be done for a duration of 6 months and after successful implementation , the 2 sides will exchange information regularly.
Moreover the heads of customs of Iran and Russia signed a bilateral agreement on administrative cooperation in customs affairs. This agreement aimed at updating the customs cooperation agreement of the two countries and use of modern technologies in this regard.
